Subject: Open Space Project – Phase 1 Update and Request for Input and Feedback
The HOA and attendees of the regular semi-annual community association meeting previously approved an open space landscaping project for the benefit of the community. A draft of the proposed plan was sent out and a subsequent open meeting was held to allow the landscape architect the opportunity to present the project to the community. Based on the results of that meeting, held March 4th, 2008, the HOA board has approved Phase 1 of the plan for the use of the open space at Urbanik and Maco.
If you have any feedback or input regarding the plan, please provide it to the HOA board no later than close of business, March 14th, 2008. To give everyone the opportunity to provide feedback we have three (3) options for contact from the community.
Leave your correspondence at the home of Sarah Wilkerson (our HOA Treasurer) at 7610 Urbanik Drive.
Place your comments on the HOA online yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RidgeForestGlenHOA - Registration is free und updates regarding the community are posted regularly.

During the February meeting, there was mention of adding walk paths to either side of the figure "8" walking path so that people can exit at either side instead of just having one way in and one way out. Is this still being proposed and if so, is this in phase 1 or another phase? Also, I noticed on this drawing that the walk path is proposed to be "wood fiber or mulch". Is this a safe walking surface for all individuals, young and old, as well as handicap accessible(wheelchairs)? Regarding the items in phase 1, the list consists of all of the plants, shrubs, trees and necessary labor, clean up and delivery costs, but what about the maintenance of the phase 1 plantings? Will there be a cost involved with that? Was it decided who will maintain the area? Lastly, once phase 1 is completed, when will phase 2 begin and what will that consist of? Will it only be 2 phases or will there be more? Will there be an additional cost with phase 2 and others? If so, that will take us past this originally proposed $15,000 budget for this entire project. How is the HOA budgeted to handle that overage?
I know I am only one voice, one vote, but I think these are some important questions that need to be addessed so that homeowners can be more comfortable with this entire process that will take place within the next month.
Regards,
Jason Hamilton
