MINUTIES OF THE BOARD OF RIDGE FOREST GLEN HOA May 16, 2013 LOCATION – PANERA BREAD

Present: Johnny Dameron, Ken Brawn, Richard Putt and Julius Brown
* 1. Opening. The 7pm meeting was opened by President Richard Putt.
* 2. Architectural Review Committee. Richard reported that members at 1730 Maco requested approval for an expansion at their house. The request is under consideration. Also recently the architectural review form has been changed and improved.
* 3. Financial Report. Treasurer Ken Brawn reported that the HOA now has a balance of over $40,000.
* 4. Community Clean-up. Vice President Johnny Dameron suggested a fall time for a community clean-up and that it be combined with a community picnic on the same day. The Board agreed.
* 5. Community Meadow. Member Piet de Dreu was ill and could not attend to report on plans for the area. However the issue of a dog park was raised. The Board agreed that basic plans for the meadow should be completed first before the dog park idea is considered.
* 6. Commercial Parking. Richard reported his county findings relative to commercial driveway parking and shared new steps to address the issue.
* 7. Election of Officers for 2013. It was agreed that the current officers will continue for another year. They are: President-Richard Putt Vice President-Johnny Dameron Secretary-Julius Brown Treasurer-Ken Brawn.
* 8. Next Meeting. July 11, 2013 at Panera Bread -7:00pm.
* 9. Adjournment. 7:54pm.

Summary of March 12, 2013 Ridge Forest Glen HOA Meeting


SUMMARY OF THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE RIDGE FOREST GLEN HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION

Date: March 12, 2013. Location: Hebron-Harman School. 7:00m. Ten Members were present.

1.       Opening of Meeting. The meeting was opened by Vice President Johnny Dameron.

2.       Efforts to Redesign the Community Meadow. Board Member Piet de Dreu gave a report on efforts to redesign the “Meadow”. Extensive discussion followed and it was agree that the HOA would attempt to have a plan for the spring of this year. Also a review sub-committee consisting of Josh Long and Brien Wells would be used to give feed back to Piet as plans develop.

3.       Budget Presentations. Treasurer Ken Brawn discussed the 2012 budget experience and presented the 2013 Budget approved by the Board.

4.       Community Clean-up. Vice President Johnny Dameron suggested a clean-up where the county will provide a trash bin for a week. Matt Green suggested a general clean-up during that week. The target date would be the third or fourth week of April.

5.       Community Picnic. Vice President Dameron renewed his suggestion that we have a community picnic. He will coordinate the event which should occur in May.

6.       Mailbox Security. The recent series of mailbox tampering was discussed and President Richard Putt warned about identity theft.  Appreciation is passed on to Susan Long for alerting the Board to the problem.

7.       Recognizing Police Excellence. Secretary Julius Brown informed the meeting that he has sent “Thank you” letters to the officers who are being honored by the county police department for outstanding service. The membership approved of this practice and also agreed to purchase a $5.00 membership in the Police Community Relations Council.

8.       Election of Board Members. Three slots were available. However Ken Brawn was the only one elected. The remaining slots will be held open. The 2013 Board is as follows:

A.      Matt Green.  B. Ken Brawn.  C. Richard Putt.  D. Julius Brown.  E. Johnny Dameron.  F. Jason Hamilton. G. Piet de Dreu.

9.       Community Reports. Vice President Dameron said he would lie to revitalize the Architectural Committee. He also suggested a monthly review to evaluate the condition of the community.

10.   The Blog. The HOA blog is active again. The address is: http://ridge forestglenhoa.blogspot.com/

11.   Basketball Hoop Removal. The HOA is grateful to Johnny Dameron for the removal of the discarded hoop.

12.   Fences around Ponds. It was brought to the attention of the group that some fences around ponds are falling down. The county will be contacted.

13.   Compliant. President Richard Putt. Reported that he had received a parking compliant. He said he would respond to it.

Ridge Forest Glen HOA News

Ridge Forest Glen HOA Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Ridge Forest Glen HOA will be Tuesday March 12, 2013 in the community room of the Hebron-Harman Elementary School.  The school is located at 7660 Ridge Chapel Road.  Entry to the community room is from the parking lot, not the front entrance of the school.  The meeting starts at 7:00 pm.

  1. Board Member Selection - It is time for the annual election of Board Members.  There are three slots available.  We encourage the membership to recommend candidates for the open positions.
  2. 2013 Budget Presentation

  4. Report on efforts to redesign the "Community Meadow"

  6. Community Picnic
Other items or concerns can be raised at the meeting.  Please plan to attend and let your voice be heard.

Community Safety Alert!

There have been reports of community members having their checks that they place in their mailboxes, have been stolen, changed and cashed, or attempted to be cashed.  Please do not place checks in your mailboxes at your homes, place them in a U.S. mailbox.  The closest mailbox to our community is in the shopping area where the public library is on 175.  There is also a Post Office on 175 near 295.  Our post office is on Arundel Mills Blvd. past Ridge Road toward the airport off-site parking lot.

Western District View

The next meeting of the Western District Police-Community Relations Council will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.  The meeting starts at 7:30 pm and is held at the Western District Police-Station at 8273 Telegraph Road, Odenton, MD 2113.

March Meeting - Officer of Merit Presentations

Three officers will receive Merit Awards for outstanding service in 2012.  The three officers are Corporal Mark Gass, Corporal Ryan Saunders, and Officer Nate Hollis.

Dues are due which are $5.00 per individual, family, or community.  Julius Brown is a member.

All Ridge Forest Glen HOA members are welcomed and encouraged to attend at least 1 to 2 meetings a year.

Western District Meeting Jan. 9th 2013


All residents are welcomed to attend the Western District Police-Community Relations Council that meets this Wednesday, January 9. 2013.

The meeting will be held at the Western District Police Station which is located at 8273 Telegraph Road, Odenton, MD 21113.
